Bon Voyage !

I suppose this is our first adventure together, my first time blogging and your first time reading about the different journeys. Today’s journey, as our first, is set for a specific destination, sort of a maiden voyage for all of us.

I don’t usually have a “destination” in mind when I start out on a sailing trip, its usually let’s see where the winds take me and where I end up.  That’s usually a good thing, since I have no sense of direction in rl or in sl.  I can honestly get “lost” at IKEA!

Today, I dragged Michael along (sorry Michael), he’s really a great navigator despite my lapses of directional sense and sl’s challenges between sailing, flying and becoming a submarine at times. Fun !

Starting out by heading west on the Blake Sea its easy sailing, the view is great and of course the weather was perfect (this IS sl). We headed through the Bingo Strait past the lighthouse on Half-Hitch and the Nautilus.

Trying to keep the W-NW heading or sort of NNW and passing through North channel we ended up at The Drunken Turtle, first glance is its a cozy beach with …. turtles!

There is a hodgepodge of small animals running around, and lots of greedy tables (and other games) the location info says they have greedy tournaments. That’s cool.

The Drunken Turtle is a smallish area which gives a hip California type of feeling, with the smoothie menu, coconut drinks and surfboard decorations. There are some couples animations and dance balls laid out, the music is oldies hits.

Wandering the path behind the main building you find a little pavilion with more games and dancing.

Overall, The Drunken Turtle is a cute little spot on the Blake Sea, open to everyone to hang out and we appreciate that.  There wasn’t anyone there when we visited (except 3 bots) but the greedy tournaments sound cool. The boat gets returned after 5 min :(, overall worth a short visit, if you are out exploring (and don’t mind losing your boat).

Havna Estate Marina

Come visit the Havna Estate Marina, you will not be disappointed! It is a beautiful typical Scandinavian harbor and archipelago estate. With the red log houses with white corners and sound of the waves and seagulls in the air, a typical Swedish summer.
